(804) 782-9555 - Venue Website

Proudly celebrating 30 years, The Tobacco Company Restaurant, is located on the corner of 12th and Cary Streets in downtown Richmond and is considered by most to be the cornerstone of the Historic Shockoe Slip district. What was once an old, abandoned, tobacco warehouse is now a beautiful, fun and exciting four-story dining and entertaining palace complete with antique fixtures throughout and a cigar/cigarette girl reminiscent of the 20's. Whether you are in search of an exquisite meal in an unforgettable atmosphere, a cocktail and a cigar in front of the warm glow of a fireplace, martinis at the bar, live music or an exclusive club to dance the night away, The Tobacco Company Restaurant is the place to be. We offer more than a dozen draft and bottle beers including local microbrews, a comprehensive liquor selection with the most popular products on the market, as well as an award-winning wine list. With all of these options in one spot, you never even have to leave the building.

Amazing Food

We recently had dinner there and the food was delicious! The Prime Rib is an all time favorite! I love the mashed potatoes and the yummy sweet bread they give you at the table. We always go there for special occasions.

Terrible Service

I went there for drinks with a few friends; we had a table and a cocktail waitress. Our waitress would take down our order and disappear, returning 20 minutes later having completely forgotten we had ordered anything at all. Finally, after several instances of this, I found a manager to complain. He was completely condescending and told us the waitress would be with us "when she got a chance" and that we could always "just go to the bar." I understood that they were busy but neither the waitress or the manager acknowledged that we had been kept waiting, or apologized. Before ordering we told the waitress that we would be needing two separate checks; of course she brought us a single check when we finally found her. I'm never going there again. Pay twice as much for the privilege of getting ignored and talked down to? No thank you.
