Dora's Brazilian Grill

This has got to be one of the worst dining experience I have had. It was my daughter's birthday and we had traveled from Williamsburg to this resturant. There were four adults and one toddler. When taking our drink order, I had also asked for a glass of water w/lemon. It took about 10 minutes and having to ask again before the water showed up - without the lemon. My daughter asked for milk for her one year old son...they didn't have any. The reason given 'we don't make anything with milk, so we have no reason to have it on hand.' I find that hard to believe. We all had ordered the rodizio. The waiter brought out one small platter w/fried plantains, 4 slices of sweet potato and 4 slices of white potato; one ramikin of black beans and one ramikin of rice. Not enough for four adults and child. The child didn't even have a plate, I had to take from the next table. One of the meat runners, while slicing the meat next to my grandson dropped the knife on to the table and almost cut my grandson and daughter. It doesn't take too many brains to know not to cut the meat next to a child. The meat runners would serve tables next to us but ignored our table and we had to ask several times to be served. I will never go back again. It is too bad that Ipanema Grill is no longer open.

Dora's Brazilian Restaurant was absolutely outstanding. The owner and staff were wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was cooked to perfection. The pineapple which was one of the desert options was incredible.

Dora's Brazilian Grill

Tried Dora's for the first time last night and found it delightful. The decor was warm and inviting with white table cloths and colorful original artwork everywhere. I especially liked the fact that in addition to the rodizio style meals, they offered other entrees. I also liked having the side dishes served at the table instead of going to a buffet table. The side dishes were simple: a salad with great house dressings, rice and beans (of course) and plantain, sweet potato, and regular potato. The rodizio offerings were flavorful and plentiful and the salmon was great. In addition, we were served baskets of fresh, warm, homemade biscuits; one basket of herb biscuits and the other, cheese. Dessert is included in the price and is a delightful end to the meal...roasted pineapple! All in all, a wonderful meal! Also - great caipirinhas (Brazilian drink made with sugar cane liquor and lime). It's wonderful to have a good Brazilian restaurant in the Slip and one that doesn't break the bank. The service was friendly and the owners were there to greet the diners and make sure everyone was satisfied. We'll definitely return!
