Phoenician Restaurant
My fiance and I recently ate dinner at the Phoenician...needless to say, when we walked through the door, we were "breathless." The beautiful chandeliers and decor enhanced our romantic evening. Naji, the owner, made us feel that we were the only ones in the restaurant and he catered our experience to ensure we had a pleasurable experience. The food, especially the meat, was seasoned to perfection. Our waitress was very attentive and made our dining experience delightful. The chef, William, came to our table and introduced himself, ensuring that our meal was enjoyable. As we looked around, the crowd was mixed, including families with children. Naji went around the restaurant and made everyone feel welcomed. It was great to see how friendly he was and that he truly cared about each and every table's dining experience. My fiance and I will visit again and again...I challenge the readers of this article to give the Phoenician a try...you'll be hooked and will truly say it's a remarkable restaurant. Thanks Naji and to your staff for a wonderful evening. You have a beautiful restaurant--something Richmond seems to have been missing...looking forward to many more wonderful evenings of good eating and relaxation.
My wife and I escaped to the Phoenician Restaurant and found a wonderful menu of authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The food was flavorful, well prepared and beautifully presented. 'Naji' Kadi, the owner, made us feel as if we had been regulars, at the Phoenician, even though it was our first visit. It will not be our last.
There are precious few restaurants in the Richmond area with the ambiance, wonderful food and personal attention that we found at the Phoenician Restaurant. Bravo, Mr. Kadi and look for us again, soon!!
My wife and I recently went to the Phoenician with 3 other couples for dinner. From the moment we walked through the door we were treated as VIP's. The service was exceptional. Most in our party had never dined in a Lebanese restaurant before. The owner, Mr. Kadi, was there that night and he "took us under his wings" and made our experience phenomenal. The food that he suggested was delicious from the appetizers all the way to the desserts. The atmosphere inside of the restaurant is also wonderful. It was evident that hard work and a lot of attention to detail went into the construction phase of the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for excellent food, excellent service and an exceptional overall dinning experience.
I recently visited Richmond to attend my son's graduation from the Medical College of Virginia. I was so proud to have a physician in the family. Afterward, my entourage of family and friends went to the Phoenician Restaurant to celebrate this wonderful occasion(it was recommended to us by a Professor of the Medical School). Our experience was beyond our expectations. From the moment we entered, our entire party was treated with the utmost respect. Although our party was quite large, the staff graciously accomodated us and gave us an area to ourselves. The ambience of the establishment was impeccable, as was the service. But the best part was the food! The host, Mr. Kadi, was informed that no one in our party had experienced Lebanese food before. He graciously offered to order for us and I am glad we took him up on his generosity. From the first course to the dessert, our palates were treated to such wonderful cuisine. I had never had a Lebanese beer before, but at the Phoenician, it was available. And quite good. All in all, everyone in my party was totally impressed and grateful for such a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, and only wish it was located in my hometown of Delray Beach, Florida. We will definitely return!

For decades it seemed that Richmond restaurants had two styles of décor: Fan "chic" and understated upscale. Two steps inside any restaurant and you knew what you were in for. Linen tablecloths meant pricey Continental cuisine; aging booths and overcrowded wall art meant burgers and bar food.
